Dear Alpine families,

What a great first week we have had!  Kudos to our amazing staff who had everything ready to go despite not getting into the building until the last week before school started due to the construction.  We are missing our blinds (especially during this very hot week) but otherwise the construction is complete.

We were very pleased to welcome several new students this week and our numbers are up to 297. Let’s go Alligators!

It has been wonderful to meet so many parents and students  – your patience while I try to learn everyone’s names is appreciated.  The pride in our school and high expectations for our students are evident.  We want to engage you in your child’s learning and invite you to follow us on twitter @alpwrdsb and register for SchoolDay and at alp.wrdsb.ca for updates.

Big news! The Kitchener Rangers have provided our school withfile_000 tickets to 3 different Ranger games.  The first is on Friday, October 7 against Sarnia.  To have a chance to win one of 3 pairs of tickets to this game, register in SchoolDay before Friday, September 16 at noon! The students who win will each receive 2 tickets (one for mom or dad) and a gift bag from the Rangers!  Many thanks to the Kitchener Rangers.

We are looking forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher from 6:00-7:00 p.m. this Thursday, September 15, 2016.  Support will be available from Mrs. MacLeod and Mrs. Crewe for families still needing to register for SchoolDay.

Thanks to all parents for returning all those forms as quickly as possible.  Your updated information helps us to keep your children safe.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Givlin
