Happy Thanksgiving to all of our students and their families. We hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend full of love, laughter, good food and incredible fall weather.

We have a busy week ahead…

Tuesday, October 11
  • Marks the end of our QSP fundraising campaign.  Thanks to all students and families who supported our campaign.  Please return all orders and payment to school today.
Wednesday, October 12
  • Whole School Math Challenge – At 1:10 p.m. we are going to Act It Out to determine if we can hold hands and reach all the way around our school.  What is your prediction?
  • Family Math Night from 6:30-7:30 p.m. If you have always disliked math or felt that you never had a “math brain”, this night is especially for you.
  • Arrive early (6:11 p.m.) for help registering on school day or signing up for a Twitter account so you can easily follow @alpwrdsb for daily glimpses into learning at Alpine.
Thursday, October 13
  • Yahoo! Our first pizza day is finally here.  Many thanks to all who are using SchoolDay (we are at 82%, well on our way to getting everyone signed up) to stay in touch and order products like pizza! SchoolDay help is always available at the office and we have a Chromebook that families without internet or data can come in and use.
  • Alpine celebrates Octoberfest with a little chicken dancing, a polka or two and fresh, delicious  Grainharvest pretzels available for purchase at $2.00 for anyone interested. Thanks to Mrs. Becker for her leadership for this community building event.
Monday, October 17
  • Our second (and final) draw for Ranger’s Tickets. Enter to win by returning your “sweet treat” family math responses.  Earn an extra ballot by following @alpwrdsb on twitter and tweeting out a photo of your questions and answers.

Thanks to facility services for having the dying elm tree at the front of the school removed.  We love our trees but, as always, safety first.  Everyone is asked to report any safety concerns to Ms. Givlin or Mrs. Fairhurst immediately. Many thanks to our parents and caregivers who look out for our students and school each and every day.  You are the best!

We are going to work together to make it another great week at Alpine!
