The Alpine School Community is extremely saddened to share the news of Miss Hughes’ death.  Miss Hughes passed away peacefully on April 7th after an 18 month battle with cancer.  Miss Hughes was a loved teacher at Alpine Public School for 12 years and a teacher at WRDSB for 15.  She enriched the lives of our students with her passion for literacy and the environment as well as social justice issues and she always led our Terry Fox Run with great care.  Her positive impact on our students will leave a legacy at Alpine and she will be deeply missed by all.
