Welcome to the Home of the Alligators!

Alpine Public School is a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school located at the south-west area of Kitchener.  Alpine opened its doors to serve its neighbourhood and community in September of 1975.  It backs onto a forested area and the playground of a neighbouring school. The school was originally built for the Strasburg Road/Block Line area and now serves an increasingly diverse community of students. Alpine serves approximately 300 students of whom about 100 are bused to school. Our grade 6 graduates continue their educational journey at Laurentian Senior Public School.

At Alpine Public School, our mission is to create a warm and inclusive space where every child feels valued and inspired. We understand the unique challenges faced by our students and their families, and we’re committed to providing the support and opportunities they need to succeed. By embracing the rich cultural diversity of our community and working closely with families, we aim to build a foundation of hope and resilience. Together, we strive to offer a quality education that opens doors to a bright future for every student.

Our Staff

The staff at Alpine Public School is dedicated to educational excellence. Our staff consists of 15 classroom teachers,  administration team inclusive of an office manager, secretary, library clerk and head custodian that look after our building, Special Education teachers, core French teachers,  CYW, EA’s and DECE’s.  Alpine staff  strive to plan and implement comprehensive programs that are based on the Ontario Curriculum and use a multi-disciplinary approach to address the learning needs and styles of all the school’s students.

The Vision

Our vision is to be a supportive and vibrant school where every student feels at home and can thrive. We want to be a place where diversity is celebrated and where all kids are encouraged to reach their full potential. By working closely with families and community members, we aim to create an environment that helps each student grow, learn, and look forward to a bright future.

Parents and Community

Another fabulous aspect of our community is our families.  Alpine School Council meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm in our library. We invite and encourage all parents/caregivers to attend these informal meetings to collaborate with staff and further support student learning.

The development of our young people is a shared responsibility involving all members of our school community. Mutual support, teamwork and communication between home and school are fundamental in developing students that are self-disciplined and have the skills necessary to reach their full potential.
