Kindergarten Staggered Entry

We are very pleased that our Alligators will be back to school on Tuesday!  Well, almost all of them.  For our kindergarten students there is staggered entry.

  • Tuesday, September 5 – JK conferences all day
  • Wednesday, September 6 – All SK students and half of the JKs
  • Thursday, September 7 – All SK students and the other half of the JKs
  • Friday, September 8 – All of our kindie friends at school all day

Class Lists

Class lists have been posted on our front doors and will remain up all weekend.  Staff will be outside to assist students in finding the correct line up on the first day of school.  The weather right now is calling for a mix of sun and clouds for Tuesday morning but if that changes and there is rain we will assemble in the gym.

Communication

In the office we use our website alp.wrdsb.ca as our primary source for communication.  Updates are also sent on SchoolDay along with class calendars and newsletters, trip forms, pizza/milk/popcorn orders etc.  We are grateful to our parent community for embracing SchoolDay as it allows us to save time and money that we can then invest in other areas.  We are on Twitter @alpwrdsb and Instagram as alpinepublicschool.  Please follow us to make sure you don’t miss out on the great learning happening in our school.

Parking Lot

All community members are reminded that to keep our children safe, the parking lot is closed for drop off and pick up.

Meet the Team

All parents and caregivers are invited to come and meet our educators on Thursday, September 7 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This event used to be called “Meet the Teacher” event but that title is not inclusive enough.  Our educational team includes teachers, educational assistants, early childhood educators, administration, our child and youth worker and our library clerk. Our parents and caregivers are key members of our team too so we also want to meet you!  It is our hope that all of our families will be able to attend this informal event.  Come and say hello and see the classroom and share your excitement and positive energy for learning!  Working together we will achieve great things!

Alpine Staff List 2017-2018

We have a great staff again this year and a fantastic mix of familiar faces and new team members.  The new face in the office is Mrs. Sherry Mahon who is very excited to be at Alpine and looing forward to meeting parents and students.  We are lucky that even though Mrs. Crewe is taking a leave of absence to pursue her passion in photography, she will still be working alongside Mrs. Mahon on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  We are also fortunate to have been granted more special education time to beter support our students.  All in all, a great staff – your children are in good hands!
